Aesthetic symbols are small Unicode characters such as ✦, ♡, ✿, ☾ and ꒰ ꒱ that make a bio, caption, username or note look soft, cute and carefully designed. This page collects more than 250 aesthetic symbols to copy and paste, sorted by type, plus ready-made dividers and kaomoji. It also explains where these characters really come from, why some turn into colourful emoji, why a few show up as empty boxes, and how to type them on Windows and Mac. Tap or select any symbol, copy it, and paste it into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, X, Notion or anywhere else that accepts text.

✦ ✧ ⋆ ˚ ♡ ✿ ❀ ☾ ☁︎ ꒰ ꒱ ⊹ ₊ ୨୧ ʚ♡ɞ 「 」 → ♪ ⟡ ᯓ★
Star Symbols
Stars are the most used aesthetic symbols. Small ones such as ⋆ and ˚ work as sparkles between words, while ✦ and ✧ look good at the start of a line.

Heart Symbols
Outline hearts like ♡ look softer than filled ones. The ❤︎ below includes an invisible text-style marker so it stays black instead of turning into a red emoji; the plain ❤ at the end shows the difference on most phones.
♡ ♥ ❤︎ ❥ ❣ ❦ ❧ ღ ꨄ ʚ♡ɞ ⸜♡⸝ ♡︎ ❤
Flower Symbols
Florettes such as ✿ and ❀ are the classic cottagecore symbols. ꕤ, ꕥ, 𖧷 and 𖡼 are borrowed letters from African scripts, explained further down, and may not show on older devices.
✿ ❀ ❁ ✾ ❃ ✽ ✻ ✼ ✤ ✥ ✣ ✢ ⚘ ꕤ ꕥ 𖧷 𖡼 ⚜ ☘ ❦
Moon, Sun and Weather Symbols
Moons and clouds suit dreamy, night-time and soft-girl aesthetics. Versions with a hidden text-style marker, such as ☁︎ and ☀︎, stay as simple outlines instead of becoming coloured emoji.
☾ ☽ ☼ ☀︎ ☁︎ ☂ ☃ ❄︎ ❅ ❆ ϟ ☄ ☀ ☁
Arrow Symbols
Arrows point to links in your bio or introduce a line. ↳ and ⤷ are popular for sub-points, such as a second line under your name.

Aesthetic Brackets and Frames
Brackets frame a name or a word. Put your text between a pair, for example 「 lingofonts 」, 『 dream big 』, ꒰ soft hours ꒱ or 【 new post 】.
「 」 『 』 【 】 〖 〗 《 》 ⟨ ⟩ ꒰ ꒱ ⌜ ⌝ ⌞ ⌟ 〔 〕 ⦅ ⦆ ﹙ ﹚ ⌈ ⌉
Bullets, Dots and Line Symbols
These are the building blocks of aesthetic layouts. Use dots and small plus signs as sparkle fillers, and the line characters to build your own dividers.

Aesthetic Kaomoji
Kaomoji are faces built from symbols and letters, popularised in Japan. They read left to right and do not need to be rotated like older Western emoticons.

How to Use Aesthetic Symbols in Your Bio
The best aesthetic bios use two or three symbols, not twenty. A simple pattern is a symbol, a short line of text, and the same symbol again, repeated on each line:
⋆˚ ꒰ your name ꒱ ˚⋆ ↳ artist ✦ dreamer ✦ tea lover ☾ new work every friday ⤷ shop below ♡
Every symbol uses up space in your bio, so keep the platform limit in mind:
| Platform | Bio limit |
|---|---|
| 150 characters | |
| TikTok | 80 characters |
| X (Twitter) | 160 characters |
| Discord About Me | 190 characters |
To change the letters themselves, not just add symbols, pair these with an aesthetic font generator. For full bio templates by vibe, see our aesthetic bio ideas, and for retro wide text try the vaporwave text guide.
Where Aesthetic Symbols Really Come From
Most aesthetic symbols are not decorations at all. They are ordinary characters from the Unicode Standard that happen to look cute. Some are maths signs and many are letters or digits from writing systems used by millions of people. Here is what a few popular ones officially are:
| Symbol | Official Unicode name | Code point |
|---|---|---|
| ღ | Georgian letter ghan | U+10E6 |
| ა | Georgian letter an | U+10D0 |
| ꕤ | Vai syllable za | U+A564 |
| 𖧷 | Bamum letter phase-E pi | U+169F7 |
| ꒰ ꒱ | Yi radical shy, Yi radical vep | U+A4B0, U+A4B1 |
| ୨ ୧ | Oriya digit two, Oriya digit one | U+0B68, U+0B67 |
| ૮ | Gujarati digit eight | U+0AEE |
| ᰔ | Lepcha letter bla | U+1C14 |
| ʚ ɞ | Latin small letter closed open e, closed reversed open e | U+029A, U+025E |
| ⊹ | Hermitian conjugate matrix | U+22B9 |
| ⋆ | Star operator | U+22C6 |
| ✦ | Black four pointed star | U+2726 |
| ♡ | White heart suit | U+2661 |
| 。 | Halfwidth ideographic full stop | U+FF61 |
This matters for two reasons. First, screen readers announce these characters by their real names, so a bio full of ୨୧ may be read aloud as Oriya digits. Second, letters from less common scripts need fonts that some older phones do not have, which is why they occasionally appear as boxes.
Why Some Symbols Turn Into Emoji
Some characters, including ❤, ☁, ☀, ✈ and ☺, exist both as plain text symbols and as emoji. Phones often show the colourful emoji by default. Unicode solves this with invisible variation selectors: adding U+FE0E after the symbol asks for the plain text style, and U+FE0F asks for the emoji style. That is why this page lists both ☁︎ and ☁. Copy the version that looks right on your screen, and check it once more after pasting, because a few apps strip the selector. The Unicode variation sequences FAQ explains the system in detail.
Why Aesthetic Symbols Sometimes Show as Boxes
A box or question mark means the viewer’s device has no font containing that character. Symbols from the Dingbats and Miscellaneous Symbols blocks, such as ✦, ✿ and ☾, are supported almost everywhere. Characters from rarer scripts, such as 𖧷, 𖡼 and ᰔ, are the most likely to fail on older Android phones and some desktop apps. If your audience matters, stick to the first few symbols in each section above. Our guide on why fancy text looks like boxes covers fixes in more depth.
How to Type Aesthetic Symbols on Your Keyboard
Windows
Press Windows key + . (full stop) to open the emoji panel, then choose the Symbols tab (Ω) for stars, arrows, shapes and more. Older Alt codes also work with a number pad: hold Alt and type the number.
| Alt code | Symbol |
|---|---|
| Alt + 1 | ☺ |
| Alt + 2 | ☻ |
| Alt + 3 | ♥ |
| Alt + 7 | • |
| Alt + 13 | ♪ |
| Alt + 14 | ♫ |
| Alt + 15 | ☼ |
Mac
Press Control + Command + Space to open the Character Viewer, then search for a name such as star, heart or arrow.
iPhone and Android
Save your favourite symbols as shortcuts so you never need to copy them again. On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement, paste a symbol into Phrase and give it a shortcut such as xstar. On Android with Gboard, add the symbol to your personal dictionary with a shortcut.
Tips for Using Aesthetic Symbols Well
- Use two or three symbols per line at most. Too many makes text hard to read.
- Keep usernames and key words in plain text so people can search for you.
- Put symbols at the start or end of a line, never in the middle of a word.
- Pick one theme, such as stars or flowers, and repeat it for a consistent look.
- Test on another phone before using rare symbols in something important.
